Photography is about controlling three things; light, motion and focus (also known as depth of field). I will teach you how to shoot in manual mode where you will learn to take charge of ISO, shutter speed and aperture controls in a variety of shooting conditions from natural light to camera-mounted flash, off-camera flash, or studio strobes.

Whether your love is portraits or action shots, photos of the family, or the family vacation, using studio light, natural light or even low light, I will make you better!

Having covered literally hundreds of live events, my skills have been developed over the years to deal with constantly changing conditions and set ups. From event coverage like weddings and parties, to portrait sessions in-studio or outdoors, to scenic and wildlife photography, I’ve been there!

Hourly, half-day and full-day photography lessons are available:

  • Rates begin at $65/ hour with a 2 hour minimum.
  • Half-Day (4 hours) = $225
  • Full Day (8 hours) = $400 … may be split into 2 sessions
  • I’m very happy to work outside the TMZ and am happy to propose a custom bid for locations worldwide

The 8 hours in 2 sessions has been by far the most popular choice. It allows the student to practice what they learn in session 1 and ask more detailed questions in session 2, most often, about a week later. I have also found this to be much less of an inundation for students, and retention is better.

PLEASE NOTE: Intermediate photographers with a good eye will finish this course prepared to accept paid bookings and enter the world of professional photography should they so desire.

I also offer training in digital workflow using Adobe Photoshop (version 5.0 or later) and Lightroom (CC2015).
