From spring 2015 through spring 2016, Roth Stock Digital Media provided assignment photographers for PR Newswire covering Southern California.
Assignments included a mix of event activations, social media consumer events, awards shows, and two incredible days working with the U.S. Census Bureau.

WEST HOLLYWOOD, CA – SEPTEMBER 26, 2015: Eva Longoria and JCPenney Host Hispanic Heritage Luncheon
The Eva Longoria Foundation is involved with a number of great community projects. On September 26, 2015, the Foundation teamed up with JCPenney to host an Hispanic Heritage Luncheon and panel discussion honoring 12 young Latinas from the Los Angeles area.
The assignment from PR Newswire, for JCPenney, was to document the wonderful day the honorees experienced.
HOLLYWOOD, CA – JUNE 10, 2015: National Bomb Pop Day – The Making of a YouTube Video – Day 2
When receiving the assignment from PR Newswire to do a corporate branding/consumer event on the Santa Monica Pier, with brand ambassadors handing out frozen treats to visitors, my reaction was, “What a fun idea … Let’s do this!”
Continuing along the guidelines from our Day 1 shoot, this day was spent again, primarily focused on documenting the talent and behind-the-scenes of the shoot. But we also manage to get in some fun times playing with the tourists and handing out SWAG!
HOLLYWOOD, CA – JUNE 6, 2015: Original Bomb Pop “Behind-the-Scenes” / Social Media Event – Day 1
Shooting behind-the-scenes of the making of a YouTube video for Original Bomb Pop‘s National Bomb Pop Day on June 25 with YouTube celebrities Monica and Shelby Church.
The assignment was to shoot documentary-style, capturing beauty shots when possible, but staying more focused on the production rather than individuals. The main requirement, as with any time I shoot around video crews, was to be very aware of camera angles of the video crew … and stay the heck out of them!
ANAHEIM, CA – MAY 1, 2015: TAG Heuer Big Surf Event Activation at WSL Big Wave Awards
The night was a constant mix of old and new with legends of surfing presenting awards to the surf stars of today. Notable among the presenters were; The California Golden Girls, Ian Cairns, Greg Noll and Greg Long, along with Robert Trujillo from the band Metallica. Surfing stars of today receiving awards included; Matahi Drolett, Paige Alms, Benjamin Sanchis, Shane Dorian and others.
HOLLYWOOD, CA – MARCH 3, 2015: Dove Dry Spray Antiperspirant and Rocksbox Partner to Celebrate Friendship
An event activation for consumers, bloggers and online influencers offered plenty to do with makeup stations, sending out gift packages to friends, trying on Rocksbox jewelry, testing Dove Dry Spray Antiperspirant, and, of course, too much fun at the photo booth!
Our first assignment turned out to be a lot more fun than the headline indicates. 🙂
